I have a background in music, having trained at the Royal College of Music. I have performed internationally and have taught music extensively in secondary schools. I continue to teach piano privately and through the Hounslow Music Service.
I discovered yoga in 1995 when I attended my first class initially thinking that this would help me improve my Karate kicks. I noticed the rapid improvement in my flexibility and with the discovery of techniques to calm the mind, yoga soon became a major part of my life.
To gain a deeper understanding of my own practice and take this to the next level, I undertook Ashtanga yoga teacher training with Brian Cooper in 2005. I love sharing my passion with others, which naturally led to teaching classes in various health clubs in the past 12 years. I have also completed teacher trainings in Thai yoga massage, restorative yoga and yin yoga.
I believe it is important to find a balance between dynamic practice and slower mindful practice and being able to listen to the body’s needs at any given time. Therefore my teaching style has an inclusive approach, offering variations to postures to allow the correct level of challenge for all.
